Activities

The AAPR arranges at least one major Exhibition each year to which members are encouraged to display their work. Newsletters are distributed four to six times a year, and typically include published articles written by members, notification of upcoming art shows, and general arts news. Workshops and meetings are encouraged, where members share their skills and interests. Other member services include

  • Representation and networking to the MBRC for arts topics
  • Guidance and assistance with RADF and other arts grants
  • An arts focus group to lobby our council for support
  • Development of an Arts Society similar to neighbouring communities
  • Creation of an artists group within the District
  • Establishing a range of facilities for artists to display, perform and conduct workshops and meetings
  • Social and business interaction between artists, service providers, industry and commercial organisations
  • Communication and ideas exchange with other art groups within the region

Membership of the Arts Alliance gives you access to newsletters, notification of events by e-mail, advance notice of exhibitions, performances and workshops plus a forum for ideas exchange with fellow members. In other words, you have a way to network with a wide range of other artists in your field in the Shire. Use the AAPR to make the Council aware of your thoughts on the Arts in the Shire.
